Blue Beans

Blues Beans were used for connecting two wires many many many years ago. After much testing it has been found that these have started to degrade, and effectively become dry joints. It has been found that each blue bean can add 2dB to the insertion loss of a line when ADSL is pushed down it. They are commonly found in underground joints that have not been entered for a long time, and at the top of poles where the feed cable is Aluminium and it is jointed onto copper just before the screw terminals. They are also found in cabinets, but these are quickly being changed out.
