Default how to protect passwords

How can I protect the passwords I use on my computer? I am always afraid that if someone is able to hack into my computer they will very quickly discover my passwords for all my very sensitive sites.

If you use firefox you can set a master password which stops anybody viewing your site passwords, I'd recommend doing that first.

There are some digitally encrypted passwords which would secure your computer. Most of the passwords are 8bit or 16 bit digitally encrypted ones. You could find a lot of password protecting softwares in internet.
