Default Homeplug vs USB Wireless

Hi,

I have recently switched ISPs and I need to invest in some new hardward. Could I please ask for some advice?

Essentially, my new ISP (BT) provides me with a wireless n hub (HomeHub). This needs to be placed near my main phone line into the house. This is in my living room. I need to then connect 2 PCs in my bedroom to the hub, as well as having a LAN for gaming.

'How' is the question... the options, as I see them are:

1) Buy 2 wireless n USB sticks; one for each PC. Then use my current hub (Buffalo airstation - access point only) to run the LAN

2) Use a Develo Homeplug (using the house's electricity wiring) to get an ethernet cable into my airstation, from the ISP hub. Essentailly plug one into a power socket next to the ISP hub, connect the two using an ethernet cable and do the same from a socket in my bedroom to my existing hub (airstation).

3) Buy a new wireless n hub and connect to the ISP hub wirelessly. Then this new hub would also run the LAN in my bedroom.

Any other ideas?

What would you guys advise?

Thanks

homeplugs tend to add quite a bit of latency so are not preferred by gamers

And it depends on how old your house wiring is..

And homeplugs just don't work in my house!

For that matter wireless is abit flaky... Although i'd advise a long ethernet wire, you can drill it through the tiled kitchen floor, up the wall, through the laminate upstairs, into the loft, down the bedroom wall and rip the carpet up where necessary...

Or atleast this is what virgin media do when installing broadband...

I bought Netgear 200Mb devices, one homeplug and a 4 port homeplug which is upstiars feeding two/three lapops, PS3 and a Xbox. My lads are really happy and have not complained about lagging, the only week link really is that the DGN2000 is'nt a gigabit router. Even so still getting 100mb connection with the base homeplug on a different ringmain to the 4 port.
