Default could something be interfering

Could something be interfering with my wireless router? My wireless internet connection works pretty well but every once in awhile I lose my connection for now apparent reason. I live near a hospital and in the same town as a power plant and I am wondering if something at one of those places could be causing this.

Is the router in a different room to your computer?
Because walls and people walking close to it can disrupt the connection.

What kid of wireless signal are you receiving?

Maybe you could change wireless channels. Or move the router somewhere else. Even moving it a tad may make a dramatic difference.

Do you have any wireless application in house with the same frequency like you internet connection. If yes it might the cause of interference. Most probably this problem happens with mobile or cordless phones.
