Thumbs up

You have to tell the software which you are using to burn the DVD. Sometimes the softwares intentionally burn the DVD's at low speed for the quality.

Then, check whether you are in PIO mode. PIO mode is very slow and sometimes a DVD burner sets itself to that if there are errors. It should be in DMA mode. To change it right click my computer, properties, click the hardware tab, then device manager. Then expand IDE/ATA. I don't know your setup of your drives but in my case I have my cd/dvd drives on the secondary IDE channel so I would right click that, properties, advanced settings and change PIO if its there to DMA if available. If you dont see PIO check the others and switch them. Restart and try again.

Can your DVD player take a USB stick ?

Many modern ones can, so you just drag and drop the movie on to the USB stick, plug it into the DVD player slot and watch. No burning involved.
You just need to check compatibility as not all DVD players take all sizes of USB stick.
