DSL's an umbrella, which incorporates a few subtypes, including ADSL, SDSL and VDSL. They all work on a similar principle (using your phone cable as an antenna), in slightly different ways. I've linked ADSL & SDSL to our wiki where there are articles explaining them; hope this helps!

i woiuldnt get an internal modem... they are rubbish
