I have DSL service though Verizon. Overall it seems to be a pretty good service. At times though for no known reason things do seem to get a bit sluggish. Is there anything I can do to try to make my DSL work even more efficiently? I have a wireless router and use a laptop.

I'm guessing your BB is delivered over copper wires as well? Do you have a master socket in your property, if so, can you please follow this guide:

You could ask your service provider to install a "loop extender" In order to boost the maximum bandwidth at your range. Refer them to http://www.widearea.us/ for additional information. Also, if Frontier bought out Verizon where you are, they already know about the loop extenders. Widearea loop extenders are approved by Frontier, though Verizon has yet to catch on.
